            George Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters. The Eagles were up  36-19 in the second  quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

 Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Jakai Stevenson, who  went 6 of 15  en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave  Stevenson a new career-high in  points. Another player making a difference was  Anderson Dorvil, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on nine points and 11  rebounds.
  Miguel Rosa Jr was  his usual excellent self,  putting up 31  points for Abraham Lincoln.  Jayden Ortiz-Muhammad was another key player,  posting ten points.
George Washington's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 12-9. As for Abraham Lincoln,  with the  victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-13.
 George Washington won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against TECH Freire Charter  at 3:15  p.m.  on Friday. As for Abraham Lincoln, they will look to defend their home court  on February 6th against Benjamin Franklin  at 4:30  p.m. Benjamin Franklin will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something Abraham Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
