Softball Recap: Fairview Tigers vs. Girard Yellowjackets        
        
		
            
 Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They took  an  8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Girard Yellowjackets. Fairview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Girard apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April.
  Taylor Polach put in work no matter where she played. She  pitched 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Polach was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played.
 In other batting news,  Jenna Szklenski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with a  stolen base, a  double,  and  an  RBI.
 Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Girard, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-11.
 Fairview has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Seneca at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Seneca is coming into the  matchup with five straight  defeats on the road,  meaning Fairview will have to defend against a  team hungry for a  win. As for Girard, they will  take on Iroquois at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
