Norfolk Christian and Virginia Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Norfolk Christian had to settle for second. They took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Virginia Academy Patriots. The Ambassadors' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk Christian lost, don't look at Abuna Ruop. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards. Ruop is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. Justice Brown-Jones was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Even though they lost, Norfolk Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Norfolk Christian's loss dropped their record down to 24-3. As for Virginia Academy, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-8.
