Baseball Recap: Sparks Takes a Loss

Sparks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-2 to the Spring Creek Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Saturday.

Sparks saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jon Gaynor, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Sparks' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Spring Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Sparks will take on North Valleys at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valleys is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Spring Creek, they will square off against Dayton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9.1 runs per game.
