Basketball Recap: Aurora Central Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Aurora Central won the last time they faced Skyview, and Alejandro (Alex) Flores did his part to make sure it happened again. The Aurora Central Trojans came out on top against the Skyview Wolverines by a score of 54-44 on Thursday thanks in part to Flores, who went 8 of 12 en route to 23 points and three steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Despite the loss, Skyview still got an impressive performance from Robin Campos Laos, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 25 points and five boards. Those 25 points gave Campos Laos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Guevara, who posted six points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Aurora Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Skyview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Aurora Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aurora Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for Skyview, they will venture away from home to face off against Adams City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyview is facing Adams City at the right time seeing as Adams City is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
