Volleyball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Southside lost against Martin County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Seahawks lost 3-0 to the Gators. The Seahawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Southside was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-9, 25-13.

Madilynn Moore paced Southside's offense, picking up four kills. Moore got some help from Annalynn Silverthorne and her nine assists.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Martin County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Martin County will face off against North Pitt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southside will be paying especially close attention to the Gators' match: after the Gators face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Southside again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
