Soccer Game Preview: Bayside vs. Flushing

The Bayside Commodores will venture away from home to square off against the Flushing Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Bayside is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Hunter College on Sunday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 4-1. Bayside's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Flushing kept a clean sheet against Hillcrest on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Hawks. Considering Flushing have won three contests by more than five goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Flushing is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those four matches. As for Bayside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Everything went Bayside's way against Flushing in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Bayside made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Commodores since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
