Basketball Recap: Patel Sets Scoring Season-High Against Winthrop College Prep Academy

Patel scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a 78-51 loss at the hands of the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans. The Trailblazers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 44-35.

Patel's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emerald White, who posted ten points. That's the most points White has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Davis, who had 11 points and three steals.

Patel has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-16 record this season.

Patel won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Patel surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they will face off against Four Corners at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
