Baseball Recap: South-Doyle Comes Up Short

South-Doyle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Madison Southern Eagles.

South-Doyle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-1. As for Madison Southern, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

Looking ahead, South-Doyle will venture away from home to face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cherokees' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Madison Southern, they will head out to challenge Knoxville Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
