The Pine Creek Eagles will challenge the Vista Ridge Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Pine Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Mullen, who was ranked 11th at the time (Pine Creek was ranked 24th). The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Aiden Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other pitching news, Cade Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Javier Jackson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Gavin Ust was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Pine Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge came up short against Pueblo West on Wednesday and fell 7-4. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pine Creek, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Pine Creek took their victory against Vista Ridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
