Recap: John Carroll Catholic Rams vs. True North Classical Academy Titans
The John Carroll Catholic Rams fell victim to the True North Classical Academy Titans''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 41-0 loss at the hands of the Titans. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, John Carroll Catholic couldn't push the score so high this time.
Shea Hartnett threw for 54 yards on nine of 16 attempts. On the ground, Jaydien Pittman rushed for 26 yards.
True North Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zachary "Zac" Katz led the charge by throwing for 280 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jasen "JROC" Lopez, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding John Carroll Catholic to a paltry 87 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to True North Classical Academy's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Stephen Mccloud and his two sacks.
John Carroll Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for True North Classical Academy, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
John Carroll Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. True North Classical Academy will be playing at home against Everglades Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Everglades Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 476th, while True North Classical Academy is ranked 111th).
