Softball Recap: Saint Mary's Hall Gets the Win

Saint Mary's Hall's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They skirted past the Winn Mavericks 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Barons have posted since February 27, 2024.

Meryl Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Holmes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Saint Mary's Hall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Winn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Saint Mary's Hall will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Concordia Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for Winn, they will take on MacArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
