Baseball Game Preview: Ajo Red Raiders vs. New Way Learning Academy Bulldogs

The Ajo Red Raiders will square off against the New Way Learning Academy Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ajo is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs last Thursday, they were much more limited against Holy Family Academy on Monday. They lost 12-2 to the Padres. The Red Raiders haven't had much luck with the Padres recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Ajo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malin Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Jarett Moore also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for New Way Learning Academy's offense. They came up short against Heritage Academy on Thursday, falling 19-0.

New Way Learning Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ajo, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Ajo might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from New Way Learning Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Ajo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
