Soccer Recap: Petaluma Comes Up Short

Petaluma lost against Vintage back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Petaluma Trojans lost 7-0 to the Vintage Crushers. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 691st, while the Crushers are ranked 172nd).

Petaluma's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-3. As for Vintage, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, Petaluma will head out to challenge Sonoma Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vintage, they will be playing at home against Casa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Vintage has won three straight at home, while Casa Grande won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
