Basketball Game Preview: Progreso Red Ants vs. IDEA Robindale Aviators

The Progreso Red Ants will venture away from home to challenge the IDEA Robindale Aviators at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Progreso and eight for IDEA Robindale.

Last Friday, Progreso took a blow against IDEA Sports Park, falling 66-35.

Despite their defeat, Progreso saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Julio Resendez, who posted three points and 15 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Resendez is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last 13 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Hernandez, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, IDEA Robindale came up short against IDEA Frontier College Prep on Friday and fell 50-38. That's two games in a row now that the Aviators have lost by exactly 12 points.

Progreso's loss dropped their record down to 12-18. As for IDEA Robindale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Progreso didn't have too much breathing room in their game against IDEA Robindale when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Progreso since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
