Baseball Recap: Barron Collier Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Barron Collier had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Island Coast Gators a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Barron Collier got a great performance from Andrew Maroney as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Maroney has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brody Graham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Mason Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Barron Collier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Island Coast only posted an OBP of .125.

The win was the third in a row for Barron Collier, bringing their record up to 24-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Island Coast, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-8.

As of now, neither Barron Collier nor the Gators have any future games scheduled.
