Basketball Recap: Wren Takes a Loss

If Wren was feeling good fresh off their 63-39 takedown of Emerald last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The matchup between the Wren Hurricanes and the Powdersville Patriots didn't end well, with the Wren Hurricanes falling 63-48. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 55-42.

It was another big night for Makayla Assemian, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 11 boards for Powdersville. The contest was Assemian's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Sweet, who posted 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Wren's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Powdersville, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Wren does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Powdersville, they will welcome Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
