Basketball Game Preview: St. John's Cadets vs. Wasatch Academy Tigers

The St. John's Cadets will face off against the Wasatch Academy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in St. John's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

St. John's took a loss when they played away from home on Sunday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 74-47 victory over New Hope Academy National. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Wasatch Academy and Varsity Opponent, and Wasatch Academy kept the tradition alive. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 90-38.

St. John's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points over those games. As for Wasatch Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

St. John's came up short against Wasatch Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 70-58. Can the Cadets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
