Soccer Recap: Burns Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cherryville last Wednesday, Burns came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for Burns in their meetings with Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy: they've now lost six in a row.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-2. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burns will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shelby at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Shelby will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Burns surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
