Basketball Recap: Heritage Home Scholars Takes a Loss

Heritage Home Scholars played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the KACHEA Wildcats 73-26. The Lady Eagles/Warriors have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

KACHEA's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Joyner, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those eight boards gave Joyner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.

Heritage Home Scholars' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for KACHEA, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Independent Athletic Ministries the next time they take the court. KACHEA will host Independent Athletic Ministries at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Heritage Home Scholars will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 10, 2025.
