Basketball Recap: North Gaston Victorious

While North Gaston has struggled at home with six straight losses, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Sai White. The North Gaston Wildcats secured a 40-34 W over the Highland Tech Rams thanks in part to White, who went 11 for 23 on her way to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Highland Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Akela Taylor, who posted nine points along with eight boards and eight steals. Savannah Butler was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points along with seven boards and six steals.

North Gaston's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Highland Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

North Gaston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-40 loss against Crest on the 13th. As for Highland Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 35-27 victory against Langtree Charter Academy on the 11th.
