Homewood put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Minor Tigers as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Homewood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Minor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.

Homewood and Minor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Patriots (ranked 67th) will meet Vestavia Hills (ranked second) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Minor will challenge John Carroll Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (347 vs. 91).
