Basketball Game Preview: University Prep Jaguars vs. Hesperia Christian Patriots

The University Prep Jaguars will face off against the Hesperia Christian Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

University Prep is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Big Bear on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. University Prep took a blow against Big Bear, falling 80-37. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-16.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from DONALD McFARLIN, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of JOSHUA OKEKE, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Hesperia Christian posted their biggest win since January 7th on Monday. They breezed by Norton Science & Language Academy to the tune of 60-29. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Patriots just coasted through the last quarter.

University Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Hesperia Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

University Prep was dealt a bruising 69-37 loss at the hands of Hesperia Christian in their previous matchup on January 7th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hesperia Christian's Ethan Flores, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 23 boards.
