Soccer Recap: Champaign Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Danville last Tuesday, Champaign Central came back down to earth. The Maroons fell just short of the Normal West Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Champaign Central's goal came courtesy of Rylie Schulze, who's now up to 13 this season.

Champaign Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Normal West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-2-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Champaign Central will square off against Mattoon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Normal West, they will face off against Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Rochester will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Normal West surely won't give up without a fight.
