Basketball Game Preview: Kemper Academy Rams vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints

The Kemper Academy Rams are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Sylva Bay Academy Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Kemper Academy is leaving town to face Sylva Bay Academy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Rams were dealt a 63-11 defeat at the hands of Starkville Academy two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Sylva Bay Academy hadn't done well against Newton County Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Saints put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 54-28 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Sylva Bay Academy's win came from a few key players Kemper Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lily Hatcher, who posted 24 points and eight boards. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynlee Bennett, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Kemper Academy came up short against Sylva Bay Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-46. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
