Basketball Recap: Absegami's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Absegami hadn't done well against Mainland Regional recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Absegami Braves secured a 45-41 W over the Mainland Regional Mustangs. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Mustangs are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Absegami has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Mainland Regional, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Absegami has already played their next contest (against Oakcrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mainland Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-42 victory against St. Joseph on the 23rd.
