Basketball Recap: Mount Juliet Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Mount Juliet Christian Academy had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it 11. They were dealt a 75-34 loss at the hands of the Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Eagles are ranked 149th).

As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. That looming 75-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Leading Ezell-Harding Christian to victory were Ali Tore and Michael Culver. Tore dropped a double-double with 21 points and 18 boards, while Culver shot 57% from the field on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Tore is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Noah Hughes, who posted seven points and six assists.

Mount Juliet Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-26 defeat against Friendship Christian on the 9th. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 71-41 victory against Nashville Christian on the 9th.
