Basketball Game Preview: Whitehouse Wildcats vs. Jacksonville Fightin' Indians

The Whitehouse Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Whitehouse took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-18 win over Marshall. While fans of the Wildcats might be used to big wins, the 44-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville entered their tilt with Lufkin on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Panthers 62-36. Given the Fightin' Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Panthers are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitehouse's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 22-5.

Whitehouse couldn't quite finish off Jacksonville when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 44-41. Can Whitehouse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
