Softball Recap: Poplar Springs Atomics vs. Laurel Hill Hoboes

Poplar Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 18-8 to the Laurel Hill Hoboes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hoboes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-13 back in March.

McKenzie Bell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases. Marissa Bollon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Poplar Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Laurel Hill, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Poplar Springs will head out to face off against Geneva County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Laurel Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Rocky Bayou Christian at 5:00 p.m. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hoboes surely won't give up without a fight.
