Recap: Dover Pirates vs. Maumelle Charter Falcons
The Dover Pirates can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Maumelle Charter. Given Dover's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Maumelle Charter is ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Logan Young was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Dover's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Mccrotty, who scored 20 points.
Dover pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Maumelle Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.
Dover will head out on the road to take on Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lamar's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests. As for Maumelle Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Arkansas Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Arkansas Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
