Softball Recap: Orofino Takes a Loss

Orofino suffered their biggest loss since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 22-12 to the Grangeville Bulldogs. The Maniacs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Orofino got a massive performance out of Livia Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilee Diffin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Orofino's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Grangeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Orofino will take on Priest River at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grangeville, they will square off against West Side at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
