Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Has No Trouble Against Maricopa Institute of Technology

Heritage Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles as they made off with a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Dahl and Conrad Reichard made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dahl struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Reichard pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Dahl got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, while Reichard went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Matthew Martin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Elliott Cahall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-2 record this season.

Heritage Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 29-0 win against Imagine Prep Coolidge on the 8th. Hopefully Maricopa Institute of Technology payed attention to the Heroes' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Heroes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
