Volleyball Recap: Carmel Wins High-Profile Game Against Franklin Community

Carmel faced Franklin Community in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Carmel walked away with a 3-1 win over Franklin Community. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20.

Carmel was led to victory by Shepard Spidel and Griffin Holdcraft. Spidel had four digs and two aces, while Holdcraft had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Holdcraft has posted since back in April of 2024.

Carmel now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Franklin Community, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Carmel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Jeffersonville on the 29th. As for Franklin Community, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on April 9.
