Merritt has gone 8-2 against Sayre recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Oilers will challenge the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Merritt has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Merritt is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Sentinel on Friday. They came up short against Sentinel, falling 14-0. The Oilers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while Sayre put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Arnett. The Eagles put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sayre pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Merritt, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1.

Merritt skirted past Sayre 8-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Oilers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
