It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vardaman can now relate to. They came up short against the Myrtle Hawks on Thursday, falling 18-3. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Vardaman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Chandler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Vardaman's loss dropped their record down to 18-12-1. As for Myrtle, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Vardaman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Myrtle, they will face off against Potts Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
