Baseball Recap: Moscow Takes a Loss

Moscow had lost seven straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-13 to make it eight. They came up short against the Sandpoint Bulldogs, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-0 defeat on Saturday.

Moscow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Perry, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Sandpoint, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Sandpoint's side, Parker Reichart was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallen Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Looking ahead, Moscow will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. Sandpoint will be paying especially close attention to Moscow's matchup: after Moscow faces off against Lakeland, they'll take on Sandpoint again at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
