Basketball Game Preview: Person Rockets vs. Orange Panthers

The Person Rockets will take on the Orange Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Person knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Orange likes a good challenge.

Person is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Southern Alamance: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Person blew Southern Alamance out of the water with a 75-39 final score. With the Rockets ahead 39-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Orange had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-21 victory over the Fighting Red Wolves. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Fighting Red Wolves are ranked 448th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orange pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Person, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Person couldn't quite finish off Orange in their previous meeting back in January and fell 67-65. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Orange's Xandrell Pennix, who posted 19 points and five steals. Now that Person knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
