Volleyball Recap: East Newton Continues Road Dominance on Monday

East Newton posted their closest victory since September 20th on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past the Neosho Wildcats 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

East Newton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-10, 15-6.

Kolby Rinehart paced East Newton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rinehart got some help from Camryn Cornett and her 22 assists. Cornett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

East Newton pushed their record up to 13-14-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Neosho, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17-2.

East Newton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Seneca on the 7th. As for Neosho, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Willard on the 7th.
