Softball Recap: Marcellus Comes Up Short

After flying high against Christian Brothers Academy on Monday, Marcellus came back down to earth. The Mustangs came up short against the Chittenango Bears on Thursday, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.

Marcellus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Dilmore, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Marcellus has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Chittenango, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Marcellus will face off against Skaneateles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chittenango does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
