Baseball Recap: La Salle Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

La Salle had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a run and slipped past the Silverton Foxes 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three games in a row.

Max Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evan Hamlin and Torsten Hersom did most of the damage at the plate: Hamlin went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Hersom went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave Hersom a new career-high. Roscoe Mithoefer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Silverton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

Looking ahead, La Salle will square off against Canby on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.6, the Cougars 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Silverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
