Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kayla Piccola and Elly Fletcher Lead Somerset to Victory

Somerset waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Cambria Heights Highlanders by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Leading Somerset to victory were Elly Fletcher and Kayla Piccola. Fletcher had four aces and one block, while Piccola had five digs. Those four aces gave Fletcher a new career-high.

Somerset's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cambria Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Somerset wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-1 tie against Forest Hills on the 23rd. As for Cambria Heights, they will face off against West Shamokin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Highlanders their first taste of in-conference action this season.
