Softball Recap: Worcester Academy Comes Up Short

Worcester Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Noble & Greenough, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hilltoppers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The Hilltoppers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Solei Banks and Sophie Unfricht stepped up to the plate in a big way. Banks went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Unfricht went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Unfricht's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Arie Erlich, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Worcester Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Noble & Greenough, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Worcester Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Austin Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Noble & Greenough will face off against rival Thayer Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
