Basketball Recap: Central Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Central entered their tilt with Webb City on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Webb City Cardinals 70-51. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loss or not, Webb City got some senior leadership from Holton Keith and Eli Pace. Keith went 6 of 15 en route to 16 points and five steals, while Pace went 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points. Pace's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Degraffenreid, who posted five points.

Central pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Webb City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
