Baseball Recap: Copley's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Tallmadge on Thursday, Copley came back down to earth. The Indians fell 7-2 to the Perry Panthers on Saturday. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Copley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Waterman, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

With the defeat, Copley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Copley will take on Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perry, they will square off against Hoover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
