Basketball Recap: Broomfield Comes Up Short

Broomfield saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Shawnee Mission South Raiders. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Broomfield still got an impressive performance from Ethan Zufall, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points. Zufall has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Cole Sonnesyn was another key player, putting up five points.

Broomfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Shawnee Mission South, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Broomfield has already played their next contest, a 71-70 victory against Campbell County on the 20th. As for Shawnee Mission South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-37 win against Arapahoe on the 20th.
