Softball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Berkeley Stags

Stratford hasn't had much luck against Berkeley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stags at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Stratford turned things around against Goose Creek on Monday. They came out on top against the Gators by a score of 10-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the match before.

Meanwhile, Berkeley waltzed into their contest on Monday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cobras a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Stags have posted against the Cobras since April 3, 2023.

Berkeley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Stratford, their win bumped their record up to 5-11-1.
