Softball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt and Lincoln pushed the score to 18-1 the last time they played Lincoln, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Rough Riders fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Rough Riders in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Desiree Hinsch, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Hinsch's first of the season. Another was Raelyn Sieler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Roosevelt suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 3-8. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

While Roosevelt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
