Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brownstown Central Braves. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Salem now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Brownstown Central, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Looking ahead, Salem will take on Springs Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brownstown Central, they will face off against Borden at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown Central's pitchers better be ready for this one: Borden has averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
