Basketball Game Preview: Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders vs. Apponequet Regional Lakers

Somerset Berkley Regional hasn't had much luck against Apponequet Regional recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Apponequet Regional Lakers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Somerset Berkley Regional beat Greater New Bedford RVT 58-53.

Somerset Berkley Regional got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenzie Pires out in front who posted 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Costa, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Apponequet Regional hadn't done well against Old Rochester Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Apponequet Regional sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 victory over Old Rochester Regional.

Somerset Berkley Regional was dealt a bruising 74-40 defeat at the hands of Apponequet Regional when the teams last played back in February. Can Somerset Berkley Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
