Basketball Game Preview: Rayne Wolves vs. Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets

The Rayne Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Rayne will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Friday, Rayne came up short against Church Point and fell 63-50. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Bears are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, Catholic of Pointe Coupee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. The matchup between them and North Iberville didn't end well, with Catholic of Pointe Coupee falling 51-34.

Rayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Rayne strolled past Catholic of Pointe Coupee in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rayne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
